School Visits

Interested in me visiting your school to talk reading, writing, and what it’s like to be an author? School visits are my favorite thing to do! Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to talk to tens of thousands of kids across the country. I have a variety of workshops and presentations that can be tailored to your school’s specific needs (though, my favorite thing to do is a “Create your own hero/villain” workshop that leaves students with all the elements they need to start their own super-powered adventure story).

While the majority of my school visits are for readers in grades 3-6, I’d also be thrilled to talk to your high schoolers, college classes, or any group of aspiring writers: I moonlight as a university professor and frequently lecture for organizations like The Writers’ League of Texas, so if you want to get down and dirty about the role of conflict in creating a compelling narrative, I’m your man.

For more info, shoot me a message using the form below. Please include a timeline, a location, an estimated number of attendees, and how many presentations you have in mind, and we’ll go from there.
