The Cloak Society trilogy is about a boy named Alex Knight who was born into a family of supervillains. On his first official mission, he saves the life of a superhero, which, as you can imagine, kind of complicates life as he starts to wonder what he's been fighting, and if he agrees with his family's mission. This Middle Grade series was totally inspired by my love of comic books, and all those years I spent wishing I knew more about what made the bad guys tick. Here are some nice things people said about the series:

“This debut novel is a strong start to a series that will likely find the same wide appeal as Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson books.” - School Library Journal

“Readers should find it easy to dig into the rapid–fire, comic book–style action.” - Publishers Weekly

“The Cloak Society must have zapped me like kryptonite, because the moment I opened it, I was frozen in place, reading long into the night, unable to move until I turned the last page.” - Christopher Healy, author of The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom

But the villains of Cloak have been biding their time, waiting for the perfect moment to resurface. And twelve-year-old Alex Knight wants to be one of them.

Alex is already a junior member, and his entire universe is Cloak’s underground headquarters, hidden beneath an abandoned drive-in theater in Sterling City, Texas. While other kids his age are studying math and history, Alex is mastering his telekinetic powers and learning how to break into bank vaults. His only dream is to follow in his parents’ footsteps as one of the most feared supervillains in the world. Cloak is everything he believes in.But on the day of his debut mission, Alex does the unthinkable: he saves the life of a young Ranger named Kirbie. Even worse . . . she becomes his friend. And the more time he spends with her, the more Alex wonders about the world outside of Cloak—and what, exactly, he’s been fighting for.

The Cloak Society:
Villains Rising

The Cloak Society has just pulled off the greatest takedown in Sterling City’s history. Justice Tower is in ruins. And the city’s superheroes, the Rangers of Justice, have vanished.

Alex Knight was raised as one of Cloak’s most fiercely loyal junior supervillains. Now, he’s determined to bring Cloak down. His only hope for defeating Cloak—and his family—is to bring together a ragtag group of kid superheroes and other junior Cloak members who have turned their back on their former leaders. But after years of hatred and enmity, fighting for the same side is easier said than done.

The Cloak Society:
Fall of Heroes

The Cloak Society has finally risen to power—by posing as the saviors of Sterling City. As long as the people believe Cloak's lies, Alex and his friends are all that stand in the way of total Cloak domination. But to bring Cloak to justice, Alex must make a final stand against his parents, his past, and the life of supervillainy he's always known.

Can a villain ever truly become a hero? In this explosive series finale, the the answer will be decided once and for all.
